Holding a serious bookish grudge

One of the most important things we learned from our daughter’s recent pre-school parent-teacher conference:

It’s true. Teddy ripped a page out of a book, and he did it on purpose. Our daughter’s constant and consistent complaints about Teddy’s transgression were born from an actual, intentional transgression.

I’m sorry I ever doubted her.

The fact that this happened months ago and she’s still talking about it today is the problem. I don’t like to see a book damaged either, but it’s been half a year or more since the incident, and Teddy has apparently been clean since.

Fully rehabilitated.

Not to mention the boy was two years old at the time. Give the kid a break. It’s time to move on. 

Then again, I kind of admire her implacable and persistent indignation.

The girl loves books.
