Nice is anything but nice

The word "nice" used to mean "a stupid or foolish person."

For the record, it still means "a stupid or foolish person" much of the time. 

Question: "What do you think of your Jane's husband?"
Answer: "He's such a nice guy."
Translation: "He's boring and maybe a little stupid, but he doesn't hurt small animals and is easily bullied into favors."

If "nice is the fifth or sixth word used to describe you... okay.

But the first? Forget it. You're a stupid or foolish person.
